Shellee Smith is a Director/Executive Recruiter at The Repovich-Reynolds Group, a division of TRRG, Inc., a leading retained international executive search and management consulting firm specializing in the corporate communications, investor relations, and corporate brand marketing functional areas. The firm is headquartered in Pasadena, California.
In her role as Director/Executive Recruiter, she manages mid- to senior-level executive searches on behalf of clients across all industries. Ms. Smith is an award-winning communicator who brings more than 20 years of experience in communications, broadcast journalism, and management consulting to The Repovich-Reynolds Group.
As a national correspondent for NBC News based in Los Angeles and London, she covered breaking news stories and in-depth features for the Today Show, Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, and MSNBC. Before joining NBC, Smith led a nationally recognized investigative team at WXYZ-TV, the ABC affiliate in Detroit, where she garnered the most prestigious awards in broadcast journalism including a duPont-Columbia University Award, the George Foster Peabody Award, two national Edward R. Murrow Awards, an Investigative Reporters & Editors Award, and seven Emmys. She also has led professional workshops for reporters and producers throughout the United States and Xiamen, China.
Prior to entering her career in executive search, Smith served as the Director of Communications for Zecco Holdings Inc., an online brokerage firm. At Zecco, she developed and implemented strategic communications programs that included launching the company on Wall Street, securing extensive live coverage on CNBC, and coordinating numerous interviews with the financial media. She also provided media training for corporate executives and acted as the firm’s spokesperson.
In addition to her work in television and corporate communications, Smith has served as a communications consultant. Her clients included: CBS Communications, Warner Bros. International Television, Outdoor Life Network, Gigantic Entertainment, Fleishman-Hillard, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, and others.
Smith earned bachelor degrees in Journalism and German Area Studies from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
