Typically each search assignment is conducted and completed during a 90 to 120-day period, usually defined as the point in time when the contract with the client organization is signed and the first day of employment of a candidate. The timing, however, also depends upon myriad marketplace factors that oftentimes are not in either the search firm's or the client's control. The following is representative of the framework of most search assignments:

Step I- Client Due Diligence
Define the recruitment assignment in depth with the client by conducting a variety of meetings with key executives who serve as key influencers of the position. Executive search professional develops the position description.

Step II- Marketing the Search Opportunity
Launch the marketing phase of the search by deploying personal contacts in the marketplace to locate viable candidates.

Step III- Recruiter/Candidate Interviews
Conduct thorough phone and in-person interviews to qualify candidates' backgrounds and their ability to exceed client expectations in the position.

Step IV- Presenting the Semifinalist Panel to the Client
Develop and present written candidate presentation documents on semi-finalist candidates for client review and selection.

Step V- Client/Candidate Interviews
Orchestrate interviews with agreed upon semi-finalists and client organization. Conduct extensive reference evaluations on candidates.

Step VI- Search Completion
Complete the search process by assisting the client organization with negotiation of the compensation package for the successful candidate. In addition, send search completion letters to all sources and potential candidates contacted on behalf of the client organization thanking them for their interest and/or efforts in helping us with the search.

Step VII- Client/Candidate Follow-Up
During the subsequent two years after placement of a candidate, conduct quarterly follow-up with the hiring executive as well as the professional who was placed in the position to inquire about the success of the placement.
